But baby it's cold outside

"It didn't mean *that* sixty years ago!" quoth my mother.  Guffaws ensue.

But I digress.

Wednesday dawned crisp and clear and begging for supermarkets and Christmas markets.

No pictures of the supermarket, but after breakfast (of zimmels, butter, and strawberry jam; canned peaches, yogurt, and corn flakes!) we packed up and headed out.  First a stop at St. Stephen's and then on to a wandering around Vienna followed by the markets themselves.

Nothing like hot spiced cider when it's chilly.

You'd never guess she spent her first three years in a place where it SNOWED!

The market at Karlsplaz

"It's like a Renaissance Faire!"
...cart before the horse, but whatever.

Too cold to walk home.  We waited for the metro.
My poor Texas kids.

I cut the meat with scissors since the knives in this place are duller than a pancake turner but beef stew was a perfect way to end the night.  And zimmels make everything even better.
