Cue the Beatnik Music
We've been reading Aesop's fables for school this year. In general, the kids have to draw a picture of the day's fable. Sometimes I like to get creative and make them put on a play or write a poem. Yesterday's fable was The Stag and His Reflection. This is what Rebecca turned in.
(I feel like this should be ended with a blinking neon sign and an announcer's voice: "This has been Dot's poetry corner")
The Stag and His Reflection
an Aesop fable
rhymed by Rebecca
The deer with the flag-like head
Looked in the stream and said
My antlers are tall
But my legs are so small
And then from the panther he fled.
If it weren't for those horns on his head
He would have been saved. Now he's dead.
