Discussions in our house
Rebecca was reprimanding Jonathan for playing with crayons before he washed his hands after breakfast. We corrected her with the well-worn (for this house, anyways) phrase, "Rebecca, you are not a mama."
A few moments of thought.....
"Mama, did you ever yell at your brothers when you were little and my age?"
Steven, smirking, replied, "No, your mama was always a good and wonderful and perfect little girl when she was your age"
"Oh. So you just yelled at kids when you were a mama?"
No response from the peanut gallery.
"Because I'm not a very good girl."
Are those words you ever want to hear coming from your daughter's mouth?
