Bob the Builder meets Evel Knievel
We're doing a lot of painting and other work in our dining room right now. Jonathan likes being involved, as this is "man's work" (thank you Hodge family for teaching him this term.......). We have pretty strict ladder rules that, of course, he has to push the limits of whenever we turn our backs. He is not allowed to go any higher than the first step and he also must have three body parts touching the ladder at all times. (an honest and non-sarcastic thank you to Camp Carothers for teaching him that seaman's trick)
We turned around this afternoon to see him standing on the ladder *technically* following the rules. Almost. He was standing with one foot on the bottom rung of one ladder, both hands on the proper rungs. The other foot was resting on the second rung of the other ladder (which we clearly mistakenly left too close to each other)
"What are you doing, Jonathan??" (a silly question for any parent to ask.)
"I'm standing on both ladders! One foot is on the big and dangerous one and the other one is on the green one with the picture of the little kid falling off it."
